About AJIS
The African Journal of Inclusive Societies (AJIS) is an annual open-access publication curated and published by SIVIO Institute since 2021. The journal aspires to continually have a range of papers from across the African continent.
The objectives of AJIS are:
i) To address the problem of ineffectual participation in the public process by non-state actors in Africa through independent research;
ii) To create a publication space centered on collective action, civil rights, democracy and development, inclusive societies, land tenure and philanthropy in Africa; and
iii) To promote knowledge generation by African scholars on the continent.

About SIVIO Institute
IVIO Institute (SI) is an independent African think tank focused on ensuring that citizens are at the centre of socio-economic processes and policy change. It aims to contribute towards Africa’s inclusive socio-economic transformation. It is borne out of a desire to enhance agency as a stimulus/catalyst for inclusive political and socio-economic transformation. SIVIO’s work entails multi-disciplinary, cutting-edge policy research, nurturing citizens’ agency to be part of the change that they want to see, and working with communities to mobilize their assets to resolve some of the immediate problems that they face.
